This morning I woke up with so much on my mind. My to-do-list started to flood every single one of my thoughts. \u201cAshley you need to finish cleaning and putting up your clothes. You need to go running. You need to get dressed so you can go to the grocery store. You need to finish getting the birthday presents for your friends. Are you going to post a blog soon? Are you going to finish the writings you have been working on?\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

The anxiety started to fill my heart. \u201cLord, what should I do? What do I need to do first?\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

Then suddenly my internal heart and mind was halted.<\/span><\/p>\n

Then it hit me\u2026<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cI haven\u2019t even communed with the Lord today! I haven\u2019t talked to Him. I haven\u2019t allowed Him to talk to me through His word. I need God. I need communion with Him. Who cares about my to-do-list!\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

So I chose God. I chose Him. I chose to study and fellowship with Him. This morning as I read scripture after scripture, I could feel my spirit being rejuvenated. My soul was SO<\/b> thirsty. Thirsty for the Lord and for His word. It wasn\u2019t until I drank from the Living Water <\/i>that my soul thirst was quenched. <\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

Tears started to well within me and I whispered\u2026.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cGod thank you. Thank you for reminding me.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

I have NO<\/strong> idea how my day will exactly be or how it will end. All I know is I have a God that will be with me every step of the way. This morning has taught me a very valuable lesson.<\/span><\/p>\n

Sometimes during our day, there are a lot of \u201cgood things\u201d t<\/em>hat have to get done or could be done. But God has not called us to simply do the good things but He has called me and you to take hold of the BETTER things\u2026Better things with Him and of Him.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

Every day I must choose better<\/u> over just good<\/u>. I must make “the better” my priority<\/b>. Better being those spiritual things. Today communing and fellowshipping with God was the “better thing.”<\/i> It doesn\u2019t mean the good things don\u2019t need to be done or can\u2019t be done. It just means UNTIL<\/strong> I choose to do the \u201cbetter thing,\u201d<\/em> I will never<\/u> find peace, joy, or true pleasure in doing the good things. Oh how my heart is grateful for choosing the better.<\/span><\/p>\n
