WHAT SOCIETY SAYS ABOUT AND WHAT GOD SAYS ABOUT SEX<\/h4>\n

Within society we see that remaining in a state of purity is not something that is very common or popular. Society has led many to believe that it\u2019s totally okay to push the boundary lines of sex, as long as you just try your best<\/strong> not to do the full blown<\/strong> <\/em>act of sexual intercourse.<\/strong> Society also says that it\u2019s okay to think as many sexual thoughts<\/strong> as you want, to have oral sex<\/strong>, masturbate<\/strong>, watch pornography<\/strong>, mess around<\/strong> with your boyfriend or girlfriend, email<\/strong> or text someone sexual words<\/strong> and<\/strong> pictures<\/strong>, flirt and hint sexual innuendos<\/strong> with your co-worker because as long as you\u2019re not having full blown\u00a0\u201csexual intercourse\u201d,<\/strong> God\u2019s okay with that. (totally FALSE) Society also says that it\u2019s ok do whatever sexual<\/strong> thing<\/strong> you want with your boyfriend or girlfriend because you \u201cso-call love\u201d<\/strong> that person. Society says, it\u2019s ok to have one night stands<\/strong> and random sex<\/strong> with people since there\u2019s no deep emotional connection to them. Because according to the world\u2026. “It\u2019s just sex, it\u2019s no big deal.\u201d<\/strong> But what does God\u2019s word say? What does\u00a0GOD<\/strong> say about sexual immorality and purity?<\/p>\n

\u201cDo you not know that the wicked will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived: Neither the sexually immoral nor idolaters nor adulterers nor male prostitutes nor homosexual offenders nor thieves nor the greedy nor drunkards nor slanders nor swindlers will inherit the kingdom of God.\u201d -1 Corinthians 6:9<\/p>\n

\u201cFlee fornication. Every sin that a man doeth is without the body; but he that committeth fornication sinneth against his own body.\u201d -1 Corinthians 6:18<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

God has set boundaries for sex<\/strong>. His word is very clear that any form of sexual immorality is sin<\/strong>, and that sin is displeasing to Him. God doesn\u2019t just set boundaries on the physical acts of sexually immorality, He also deals with the mental sin of sexual immorality (lust). You see\u2026 God goes deeper than just our surface level! He goes all the way to our hearts<\/em><\/strong>. He wants us to see it\u2019s just as equally wrong to think sinful sexual thoughts and push the boundary lines of sex as it is to physically have sexual intercourse with someone who is not your spouse.<\/strong> The word \u201csexual immorality\u201d includes ALL\u00a0<\/strong>those things of the sexual nature that are wrong<\/strong> before the Lord. Yes these include things such as\u00a0 masturbation, pornography, and participating in sexting, oral sex, and fondling with someone who is not your spouse. All those things DO NOT glorify God and are sinful in His sight. 1 Corinthians 6:12-17 helps us better understand the concept of sexual immorality.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe body is not meant for sexual immorality, but for the Lord and the Lord for the body. By his power god raised the Lord from the dead, and he will raise us also. Do you not know that your bodies are members of Christ himself? Shall I then take the members of Christ and unite them with a prostitute? Never! Do you not know that he who unites himself with a prostitute is one with her in body? For it is said, \u201cThe two will become one flesh.\u201d But he who unites himself with the Lord is one with him in spirit.\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

You see, God wants His children to stay in a state of purity<\/strong> before Him\u2026purity in mind, body, and soul. He wants us to be united in Him and as a result live a life that brings glory and honor to Him. If we continue<\/strong> in a life-style of sexual immorality<\/strong> we are\u00a0NOT considered pure before the Lord and if we die in that state we cannot inherit heaven<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

“I am going away, and you will look for me, and you will die in your sin. Where I go, you cannot come.” – John 8:21
\n<\/span><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

THE HEART OF SEXUAL IMMORALITY<\/h4>\n
\n

God also goes as far to help us see that just because we may have kept our “physical state pure\u201d<\/strong> and are \u201cphysical virgins\u201d<\/strong> does NOT mean we get a gold star or that we\u2019re definitely pure. God is all about the heart and this concept is seen throughout the whole bible. You can be just as<\/strong> disqualified as someone who goes around sleeping with whomever they choose, if you are going around sleeping with whomever you choose within your mind and pushing the bounding lines of sex<\/strong>. Sexual thoughts, pornography, and sexual\u00a0fantasies are just as sinful<\/strong> as the physical act of having sex outside of marriage. To God any form of sexual immorality is sin to Him. With that being said, we must realize that everything<\/strong> starts<\/strong> in the heart. If we want to be pure before the Lord we must first start with the purity of heart (mind)<\/strong> which will then lead us to purity in the physical state<\/strong>. God wants us to see that He is not JUST interested in us remaining “physically pure”<\/strong> but most importantly keeping our hearts pure before Him<\/strong>. He knows\u00a0 what is within our hearts even when other people don\u2019t know. The bible states,<\/p>\n

“I the LORD search the heart and examine the mind, to reward each person according to their conduct, according to what their deeds deserve.” -Jeremiah 17:10<\/p>\n

\u201cAs a man thinketh in his heart so is he. “- Proverbs 23:7<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Matthew 5:28 also helps us see that if a man commits adultery within his heart, to God it is just the same as he or she physically committing the act. God not only judges us by our actions alone but the thoughts of our\u00a0hearts.<\/p>\n

“But I tell you that anyone who looks at a woman lustfully has already committed adultery with her in his heart.” -Matt. 5:28<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

We must\u00a0NEVER<\/span> underestimate the power of our hearts (minds). God wants us to stay pure<\/strong> not just in the body<\/span>, but in\u00a0the mind<\/span> and in the soul.<\/span> It doesn’t matter what society says about sex. God has the final say. What He says is what should direct our lives. Be encouraged!<\/p>\n
